New Friends

Since we've relocated, almost everything in our lives has changed. The biggest two changes would be our new jobs and the fact that we know almost no one in our new town. I know one long lost friend and that's it. So now we're faced with the problem of how to meet people as an adult, without it being weird? After living in Key West for so long I'm wary of meeting new couples. After you've been invited to swingers parties more than once, you start to think twice. 

So what to do?

Fortunately, there is Facebook to the rescue. 

This week I was perusing the local Facebook pages when a woman posted about just moving to the area and asked how to meet people? Locals came out of the woodwork with answers! Within minutes we had set up a time to meet and invited whoever else wanted to come. Talk about nerve-wracking!

Tuesday night was the night. AJ and I had a pre-meeting drink to calm the nerves and then headed outside the restaurant to meet the group.  

Long story short, it was a success! We had interesting conversations, a few drinks, and some laughs. We all left with a promise to do it again. 

Moral of the story? Take a chance.
